A Pumpkin Spice Martini is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays. It boasts those beloved classic pie flavors blended into a deliciously creamy cocktail.
For this martini recipe, you will need Spiced Simple Syrup. It’s easy to make, full of fall flavors, and can be used in many drink and baking recipes. The infused simple syrup will keep in the fridge for up to a month. Plus, I give you a list of plenty of ways (other than cocktails) to use simple syrup.
Yes, you could create a similar Pumpkin Martini with flavored vodkas and liqueurs, but honestly, I’ve never really been a fan of them. Oftentimes, they are cloying sweet, so I opted to recreate this martini using real ingredients. The result is a dessert martini that is sweet, but not TOO sweet, creamy, and full of cozy fall spices.
FAQs:
The egg whites add a rich, foamy texture to drinks. For this pumpkin martini, the egg white actually helps to bind all the ingredients and prevent separating.
It’s never 100% safe to consume raw egg, but the use in a cocktail is a minimal risk. You do want to make sure to use pasteurized eggs, and do make sure the shell is clean before cracking and separating the yolk from the white. If it makes you nervous, simply skip the egg. Yes, some of the creaminess of the cocktail will be lost, but the flavor will not be changed. For more information on using egg whites in cocktails, check out A Bar Above’s Egg Whites in Cocktails.
Ingredients for Spiced Pumpkin Martini:
- Vodka: Use any vodka you enjoy drinking.
- Spiced simple syrup: It's infused with pumpkin spice seasonings.
- Pumpkin puree: A must for that classic pumpkin flavor.
- Half and half: Blends with the pumpkin puree for a creamy martini.
- Egg white: Creates a super frothy cocktail.
- Nutmeg: Garnishes the top of the martini.
- Cinnamon sugar: Used for the rim of the martini glass.
How to Prepare Pumpkin Spice Martini:
- If you’re using a rim for your martini, prepare this first. Simply dip the rim in a small amount of maple syrup or simple syrup, then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Set aside while you prepare the martini.
- Next, separate the egg white from the yolk, and add the white to a small bowl. Whisk the egg white until foamy. Or, you can add the egg white to your shaker (without ice), and shake vigorously until foamy.
- Add the vodka, spiced simple syrup, half and half, pumpkin puree, and ice to the shaker with the foamed egg white. Shake for about 30 seconds until all the ingredients are well blended.
- Strain into a prepared martini glass, and enjoy this fall classic. Add a sprinkle of nutmeg for garnish on top.
