Oh my gosh, the foodie in me has been in heaven! Bombay Bloomers, Feast at Sheraton on the Park, and Pool Cafe have all been truly amazing meals. Thank you so much, Jeanie, for sharing some of your favorite restaurants with us in Sydney!
If you like Indian food, the curries at Bombay Bloomers are to die for. Although they do have a nice wine selection, you are more than welcome to bring your own bottle for a minimal corkage fee, which we did...well, two of them, actually.
We started with Garlic Prawns, yum! The mix of garlic and Indian spices was truly delicious. For our mains, we all chose a different curry. All three were absolutely amazing.
I would highly recommend the Lamb Balti or Prawns Korma. Yes, Jeanie loves her prawns.
Our service was first rate. Sanjay was warm, welcoming, and happy to share recommendations. Grab a table near the window for some people watching, or sit toward the back of the restaurant for a more intimate experience.
If you don't mind splurging a bit, Feast is a wonderful experience. Located in Sheraton on the Park in the CBD, it is an elegant dining experience. The lunch buffet has something everyone will love.
From salads, to shepherd's pie, to a selection of fresh shellfish and sushi, there are sure to be an array of dishes to delight any palate.
Just make sure to save room for tasting the sweet treats. I promise, you'll be tempted!
FYI, we spent almost three hours here visiting and eating.
Yes, the food was wonderful, but in our defense, we were meeting new family and spending as much time visiting as eating.
Pool Cafe is worth a visit, not only for the fresh, whole foods, but also for the amazing views across the street.
The dog friendly restaurant serves breakfast all day with lunches beginning at 12:00.
Fresh squeezed juices, coffees, and teas are all available to accompany your meal. Russ and Jeanie both had Eggs Benedict, one with smoked salmon, the other with ham.
I opted for Chorizo with eggs and tomato, topped with fresh spinach and goat cheese, served atop fresh sour dough bread.
Can you say, Food Heaven? No, I don't indulge in grains often, but this dish was more than worth the cheat. Besides, I'm on holiday and have given myself permission to eat astray while I'm here. And, the hike on the beach after breakfast totally burned up any extra calories.
You can't go wrong at Pool Cafe. If you make it to Sydney, put it on the top of your list for the best food and breathtaking views!
